N'awlins On My Mind

In 1989, I visited New Orleans for the first time, arriving as a freshman at Loyola University.  Over the next four years, I fell in love with one of the most vibrant, most inspiring cities in the US.

Three years ago, New Orleans was hit by what we all expected but tried to ignore...a hurricane strong enough to break the levees that kept a below sea level city alive.  And despite everything that happened there after, the heart and soul of New Orleans prevailed.

In the next few days, New Orleans will be tested again by Hurricane Gustov, a storm which is likely to break even the strongest wills in this amazing city.

While I enjoyed every moment I shared with the city, I hunger for more.  To the residents of New Orleans: be safe, be strong, and Laissez Le Bon Temps Roulet.
