Let the countdown begin.  In less than 24 hours, Smoke In Da Eye, along with 40 or so other BBQ teams from as far away as Florida will take part in the second annual Battle of the BBQ Brethren grilling and barbeque competition in Sayville, NY. 

 

Our trailer is packed and we're ready to roll, hoping to arrive early this evening so we can get situated before the real work (and the rain) begins tomorrow morning. 

 

Spread over two days, this will actually be the most cooking we have done at any contest, including a noon turn-in for an open hot dog category tomorrow (sponsored by Sabrett Hot Dogs), 12:30 sausage, 1pm pizza, 3pm on site judging for a dessert and a chef's choice (open) category.  Sunday will be chicken (noon), ribs (12:30), pork shoulder (1pm), and brisket (1:30).
