Competition 'Que from Kingsford
As I mentioned several weeks ago, Kingsford will soon be unveiling a new product in its growing charcoal arsenal and now we have the details.
Called Kingsford Competition, the 100 percent all natural briquets promise the control and long burn time of briquets with the heat of lump charcoal.
Now personally, I have yet to use the stuff but am a frequent user of regular Kingsford in competitions so am anxious to try it out. I have also had some success using all natural briquets such as Stubbs and Wicked Good for grilling and have found they tend to add burn a little cleaner and longer on my smokers. The test, however, will have to wait since the stuff is just starting to ship in the next few weeks but won't be available widely until April 1. As for cost, its an increase over what I pay for the regular but if it works well then it's worth the extra investment...
