TGI Fry-Day: Meatballs

I looked at the calendar today and what did it say?  TGI-Fryday!  Today, I'm serving up an Eye-talian treat perfect for Superbowl Sunday, some tasty, bite-sized meatballs with crispy beer batter.  Enjoy!

Beer Battered Meatballs
One pound fresh Italian sausage
Beer batter (a recipe can be found here)
Tomato sauce of choice

Roll sausage into miniature meatballs, approximately the size of a nickel.  Chill for at least 30 minutes to firm up.  Meanwhile, heat oil to approximately 350* and prepare beer batter.  Dip meatballs in batter and fry in small batches until golden brown, drain and rest on paper towels.  Plate and drizzle tomato sauce over top then serve.
