The Fried BLT
What's not to love about fried green tomatoes? Slight tart, tremendously juicy and just the right amount of crunch. In honor of TGI Fryday, we are serving up the BLG, a bacon lettuce and fried green tomato sandwich featuring a roasted garlic aioli.

Fried Green Tomatoes
4 green, unripe tomatoes
1 cup flour in a bowl
2 eggs, beaten in a bowl
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup unseasoned breadcrumbs
2 teaspoons Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning
Mix bread crumbs, cornmeal and seasoning in a bowl. Slice tomatoes into 1/4-1/2 inch rounds. Dip slices into flour, then egg, then breading mixture. Shake off excess. Meanwhile, heat 1/2 inch of bacon grease (or favorite frying oil) in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Fry tomatoes, flipping after approximately 2 minutes when golden brown on the bottom. Continue browning, remove and drain on paper towels.
