A Turkey Grows in Buffalo
Call the cardiologist 'cause TGI Fryday is back!
For those of you visiting for the first time, TGI Fryday was born last winter as a fun way to pass the time until competition BBQ season revved up again in the Spring. Sometimes the offerings are good, sometimes they're great, aid sometimes they're down right awful (you can check them out in there entirety here). Now on with the action!
Just because Thanksgiving is over doesn't mean that the turkey fest has to end. While browsing the meat section at the local A&P the other day, we came across a packages of turkey wings and drummettes and thought "why not make some freaking big buffalo wings?"
So to cook monster buffalo wings, you need a monster fryer. Fortunately, Masterbuilt recently introduced its Butterball electric indoor turkey fryer (pictured here with his good friend, the Smoke In Da Eye Beertender).

In addition to a bunch of cool features like digital controls, a timer and a handy drainage valve, this fryer's two gallon capacity makes it a perfect everyday cooker for any family.
After heating peanut oil to 375 degrees, fry wings and drummettes for roughly four minutes per pound or until they reach an internal temperature of 175 degrees. While frying, melt 1 stick of butter and mix with 1/2 cup of Frank's hot sauce in a large bowl. Remove wings from fryer, drain on paper towels and toss in hot sauce mixture until well coated. Plate and serve with carrot slices, celery and blue cheese dressing for dipping. All we can say is that the results were amazing. Like traditional wings but Fred Flintstone style. Moist and meaty on the inside, crisp and crunchy on the outside and just the right amount of heat from the sauce.

What a great idea for wings. Dino Wings? Pterodactyl Wings? I know the Lord Of The Wings would love these.
