Competition BBQ Goes Collectible

With TLC recently bringing the world of competition barbecue to mainstream America via its new reality show "BBQ Pitmasters," cooks from across the country are finding themselves inundated by a new breed of fan -- the meatheads.

Similar to the Grateful Dead's deadheads, these devoted souls travel the country from contest to contest, shouting out to competitors requests for their favorite injections, sauces and rubs, while hoping to see someone break out an old school cooking technique ("He's going sans foil tonight!!!  That's hot!!!" one overly charged female fan was recently heard screaming) or break out something never before seen.

Having been featured in such places as CNN (found here) and Food Network this year, Smoke In Da Eye competition BBQ team is no stranger to the meatheads.  Just wear one of team hats to the local hardware store and see how many bags of Kingsford you end up signing for fans in the barbecue aisle if you doubt it.

In an effort to appease the adoring fans this holiday season, Smoke In Da Eye is launching the first ever competition BBQ memorabilia collection with an exclusive, one-of-a-kind, contest worn shirt from this year's American Royal Invitational.  The auction is being held in conjunction with acclaimed online auction source, eBay, and bids are currently being accepted here.
