Cantwell, 41, started out as an amateur backyard cook, firing up the grill for his family on weekends.
Bitten by the barbecue bug, he kept at it until, after a long process of trial and error, he’s now considered a grilling and barbecue authority.
Cantwell, who leads a competitive barbecue team called Smoke in Da Eye and serves as editor of Grilling.com, has made frequent television appearances, including one on the Food Network’s “Burger Challenge.”
